Asking questions

Chat answers questions from your library alone. It searches first, writes the answer from what it found, and links every source it used so you can check it. When your library does not cover a question, it says so.

Important

Answers are written by an AI model told to use only your sources. It links each one so you can check it, but like any AI it can still get things wrong.

Asking

  1. Open Chat and type a question, or pick one of the suggestions.
  2. Watch the steps as it searches. The answer appears underneath, with numbered links to its sources.
  3. Ask a follow-up in the same chat, or start a New chat. Past chats are under History.

You can close the tab while it answers: the answer keeps going and is waiting when you come back.

Choosing how it answers

ControlWhat it changes
Mode (Flash, Speed, Balanced, Wide)How long it spends: one quick pass, or several rounds that weigh each source
SkillThe kind of answer: an explanation, a devotional, a word study, teaching prep, a prayer and more
Search inWhich sources it may use. Ask this source on a book or Bible's page asks that one alone

Your own skills

In Settings -> Skills you can write a skill of your own: say what it is for, what it should lean on, and how it should answer. A skill is a small text file you can download, share or paste into another Bibliup.

From other apps

An assistant that speaks MCP, or any app that talks to the OpenAI API, can use your library too. See Use it from other apps.

Chat needs the AI models, which download on the first start. If it says it is not ready, they are still coming.
