Studying a passage
Open Bible and pick a passage. Select a verse and the study panel beside it gathers what your library says about that verse. Select another verse and the panel follows.
The study panel's tabs
A tab shows only when your library has something for it.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Explanation, Devotional | A short piece written from your library, citing it, and kept for next time |
| Compare | The verse in each of your translations |
| Cross-references | Passages that point at this verse, and the ones it points at |
| Interlinear | The original language, one word at a time. Pick a word to open its entry |
| Concordances, Dictionaries | The entries for the words in this verse |
| Commentaries, Books, Audio, Quotes | Where they mention this verse |
| Notes | Your notes on this verse |
| Image | A picture for the verse (see Making images) |
Reading something beside the chapter
On a wide screen, opening an item from the panel puts it in a column beside the chapter, so you keep your place. A cross-reference arrives as its whole chapter, with the verse outlined. On a phone or a tablet it opens over the page instead.
Good to know
- The Apocrypha stays out of the panel, search and chat until you turn it on in Settings -> Bibles.
- Which Bible opens first is set in Settings -> Bibles.
- Word studies need concordance or interlinear files in your library (see Adding your content).
